疑问：为甚麽是c而不是D

为什麽答案是B不是C= =
______Mr. Tanaka to replace Ms. Wong, his salart would be doubled.
(A) Were
(B) Should
(C) Despite
(D) Especially
这题答案是were 这题完全不懂= = 两个句子没有连接词还可以这样写
很奇怪
