Chris Wilcox was named the Western Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
He averaged 23 points on 75% shooting and 15.3 rebounds, helping the Sonics to
a season-high four-game winning streak. He had 26 points and a career-high 24
rebounds in a win over Houston on Tuesday, becoming the first Sonic to go 20-20
in a game since Shawn Kemp on November 15, 1995. Not bad for a guy you picked
up off waivers a month or so ago.
Jamal Crawford was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Crawford averaged 26.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.25 steals in
leading the Knicks to a 3-1 record, hitting game-winning baskets against
Cleveland on Wednesday and Indiana on Friday. When Jamal Crawford and Chris
Wilcox are winning this award in the same week, you know things are completely
wacky in the NBA. Good luck setting your lineups this week!
