标题[问题] on the fly的意思

最近在学html5
爬外国网站看到 on the fly
想请问这是什麽意思呢？
google 上面好像说是「飞快的、忙录的」
The <canvas> tag is used to draw graphics, on the fly,
via scripting (usually JavaScript).
可是要加在这句上面怎麽觉得怪怪的
