Keeper Demirel given two-game ban
Turkey goalkeeper Volkan Demirel has been banned for two matches after being
sent off during his side's Group A 3-2 victory over Czech Republic.
Demirel was dismissed in stoppage time of Monday's match after pushing Czech
striker Jan Koller to the ground.
The Fenerbahce keeper will definitely miss their quarter-final against
Croatia and also a potential semi-final against Germany or Portugal.
The Turkish FA was also fined ￡27,000 for improper conduct.
The fine related to the behaviour of their supporters, players and officials
during the match, notably Demirel who sat on the bench after being sent off
rather than leaving the technical area.
