They departed EURO '96 with no points gained and no goals scored, but will leave Switzerland and Austria with heads held high and the hearts of neutrals after their heroic fightbacks against Switzerland, Czech Republic and Croatia. Even in this semi-final – Turkey's first – they levelled the scores at 2-2 with four minutes left only to concede a Philipp Lahm goal. Terim, enticed back in 2005 after coaching Galatasaray AS, ACF Fiorentina and AC Milan, said of his position: "Most probably after speaking to the [Turkish Football Association] president and the players I will choose to say: 'This is what I have done and I hope whoever comes later on will work to make this team champions.' I have already said I would not work in Turkey and I keep my promises so I will most probably go and work abroad. Now they have made their final contribution, Terim mused: "We have done something that Turkey haven't been able to do in the last 70 or 80 years. The players should not feel bad. Yes they lost, of course we are out, but it was our 47th day together, and it is not easy to work when everyone else is on holiday. Terim, though, believes that this time things will be different. "I do think it, and that is what it must be," the 54-year-old said. "Football is a very important thing in Turkey, as it is all over the world. There are 70 million people and their hearts were beating with the players on the field and that is very important. I believe that a team like Turkey must be in tournaments like this; that it's necessary for consistency. You may come last or first but it is important to be there. I believe in the future Turkey will be present in World Cups and European Championships; that is what I hope for." 土耳其在０２年世界盃闯进四强，但他们之後便无法再得到两个比赛的参赛权。 特林姆相信这次会有所不同：足球在土耳其是非常重要的一件事，全世界都是。 七千万人口在场上球员奔跑时心跳加快。我相信像土耳其这样的一个队伍一定得 参加比赛，或许是最後一位也或许是第一位取得参赛权，但是”参加”就是很重要。 我相信未来会在世足及欧洲盃的赛场上看到土耳其，这就是我所希望的。 --- 这可能是最後一篇的土文了。 说真的，当时在学校电脑课看到徵召帮手的文，我是因为好奇而报名。 我不是土耳其迷（我是义大利迷ＸＤ），我几乎不认识土耳其的球员， 但就是因为这个，所以我决定尝试。 其实这工作不是很轻松，也不是很困难。 不轻松是因为赛程刚好和期末考撞期（对於一个高中生，用期末考来抢救边缘科目是相当重要的。） 原本只打算要关心义大利，接下这工作後还要顺便关心土耳其， （然後就很自然的博爱的去关心大家） 原本我需要的睡眠就比别人多Ｏｒｚ， 这下子每天几乎只剩三小时可以睡，真的很累。 而不太困难是因为euro08官网的英文很简单XDD 很快就可以翻完一篇。 而我当时也万万没想到土耳其真的可以走到今天这步－走得这麽远！ 总觉得真的有神秘的魔咒在土耳其上， 一路保护着他，护送他走到这里。 虽然今天凌晨跌了一跤，但我相信， １０年南非的南非再见面，就在不远处。 然而当时没有想到的是，经过这三周的翻译经验，我居然学到很多英文能力以外的东西。 我怀疑Terim其实是个哲学家，他每次赛後说的话，在我听来都是激励人心的。 或许是　因为种种因素原ＰＯ我功课特多，报告量特大， 常常被”被当　被退班”的压力压得喘不过气， 因而特别需要一些激励的言语吧！ 总之，我很感谢Turkey给我这些机会重新检视自己， 不管是我对事情的态度或是我的低学习成效。 也要感谢euro08版的各位，其实大家都有发现我的文每次翻到後来就乱翻， 中文之中还带着英文语法的种种错误， 却没有禁止我再翻新闻ＸＤＤ 让我有这个机会继续学习。 今天是第一天期末， 接下来还有四科的考验， 祝我自己可以顺利过关！！ --- --
