Current Valencia trainer Claudio Ranieri's future is on a knife edge, with defeat against Steaua Bucharest in the UEFA Cup on Thursday, or on Sunday against Real Betis, likely to see the Italian dismissed. DiarioSport says Valencia's board have already sounded out Koeman about moving to the Mestalla next season as Ranieri's replacement. The Dutchman is said to be keen on the offer. However, Koeman has already told Valencia they must offload Ranieri's Italian signings as he isn't interested in inheriting his summer deals.
