Chelsea have confirmed that they have agreed a deal with Valencia for
Asier Del Horno.
The Spanish international is now free to discuss terms with the Liga outfit,
just 12 months after he arrived at Stamford Bridge.
Former club Athletic Bilbao are also keen to secure Del Horno's signature -
with the player available for around ￡5 million - but it seems Valencia are in
pole position.
"Chelsea and Valencia have agreed a fee for the transfer of Asier Del Horno,"
said a statement from the Premiership champions.
"The player has travelled to the Spanish club to negotiate personal terms."
With Del Horno now on his way out of the club, Chelsea will step up their
efforts to bring in a new left back - with Ashley Cole and Roberto Carlos
continually linked with moves to West London.
