The 29 year old defender suffered an injury to his right foot a month ago during pre-season and he has so far missed out both of Valencia’s opening league games as well as the Supercopa. But he looks to have made a full recovery after joining the rest of the squad for a normal training session on the pitch yesterday morning. He did, however, exercise separately from the group during the evening schedule as the other players participated in a training match. But there’s still more injury concerns for coach Unai Emery, who had Vicente and Asier del Horno sitting out of yesterday’s session due to niggling injuries, while David Silva and Ruben Baraja were also ruled out due to their own ailments. Valencia will visit Portuguese side Maritimo on Thursday in the UEFA Cup before returning to domestic action against Osasuna at the Mestalla at the weekend.
