Bruno - 7: Showed some good touches going forward and appeared to revel in helping the attack, but was caught out at the back on a couple of occasions. Alexis - 5.5: Nervous before the break almost cost Valencia the game and only Aguero's finishing helped him and his late header cost them the win. Dealbert - 6: Another player at the back for the hosts that looked shaky and if Aguero and Forlan had been on their game he would have been punished. Mathieu - 5.5: More secure and showed his determination with one fine sliding tackle, but then left Maxi unmarked in injury time when he scored. Marchena - 6: Looked to put the boot in and then protested too much when the referee called him up on it. Banega - 7.5: Showed why he has become a regular in the Valencia midfield with some strong runs and visionary passes forward. Pablo - 8.5: Outstanding down the flank with his crossing and his goal was sublime as he controlled the ball superbly before netting. Silva - 7.5: Lively and creative going forward, the Spain international maybe should have found the net himself. Mata - 7.5: A driving force that has found his place up front with Villa and Silva, but saw Pablo take the focus off him and he was substituted. Villa - 8: Always outstanding and could have scored far more than the one that he managed as he constantly cause Atletico probelms. Subs Maduro - 5.5: Went on and then disappeared after the crowd made it clear that they were not happy with Banega going off.
