Gwyneth Paltrow Signs $900,000 Record Deal With Atlantic It appears Gwyneth Paltrow has a record deal. The “Country Strong” actress and wife of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has signed a deal with Atlantic Records to record her debut album, according to a report by the Britain's Sun newspaper. Financial terms were not disclosed, but Paltrow’s record contract is believed to be worth $900,000. Paltrow joins a diverse Atlantic roster that includes James Blunt, Janelle Monae and Kid Rock. According to the New York Post, the album is described as some kind of "country pop" by those who have heard demos. Paltrow’s “Home” from “Country Song” was nominated for an Academy Award this year – and she performed it live during last month’s Oscars telecast. (On the red carpet, Paltrow said her dream would be to perform a duet with Jay-Z.) She also performed a duet of “F--- You” with Cee Lo Green at the Grammy Awards, after covering a censor-friendly version of the song ("Forget You") during a guest appearance on “Glee” last year. Perhaps not-so-coincidentally, Paltrow will make a return appearance as McKinley High substitute "Holly Holliday" on Tuesday's episode of "Glee" -- with planned covers of Prince's "Kiss," Joan Jett's "Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)" and Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide." Critics will no doubt bash her -- especially the reported pricetag -- but Paltrow’s been crooning for a while now.
