Though my husband and I are both American, my family is from Taiwan (I speak Mandarin) and my husband's family is from Germany (he speaks German and French). Although we speak English in the house, we are looking for someone who can speak as many of these languages rin addition to English) as possible, to form a truly multi-lingual household. We need someone who is trustworthy, energetic, patient, and loving to care for our son (and possibly a new baby). Safety of our son is the most important responsibility. Other responsibilities include cleaning up indoor/outdoor play areas and assisting in cooking. Reading and doing a variety of projects are very important inour household, so we are looking for an au pair who encourages both. We would like someone who enjoys a quiet/rural lifestyle and does not: smoke, do drugs, drink excessively, party, or gossip (privacy is important to us).
