第一个limb transplant是在1998年完成的，那是个hand transplant。
後来受术者 Clint Hallam 可以用那只手来写字。
但是Clint Hallam觉得跟移植来的手"mentally detached"
自愿停止服用抗排斥药，并在2001年将该手截肢。
