There are certain concessions that one makes to be married. Not shagging other women for a start. 2.REMEMBER YOUR ROOTS. I'm aggressively possessive of my British heritage. I drive an Aston Martin. I'm very polite. I like soccer. 3.YOU'RE NEVER TOO OLD TO GET TATTOOED. I've had two done in the last year. I got the Gitanes cigarettes logo on my back. I love the Gypsy chick with the tambourine. I forget what the other one was. 4.DRUGS ARE A PERSONAL MATTER. You know. I don't really have a lot of advice. I don't preach. Out of the myriad chemicals that you can put in your body the most destructive is, of course, the one you love most, which for me was heroin. Alcohol was the hardest one for me to quit. That was the one thing that I thought was basically safe, but I started drinking to such excess that I had to take a different approach to it. I've quit drinking now. I'm still smoking. That's my last good advice. 5.SNAKES MAKE GREAT PETS. Snakes are good if you like a pet that just dose its own thing. I don't handle snakes too mush - they don't appreciate it. I've had a couple of snakes that have been with me through thick and thin and you think they're your friends, as long as they're not biting to you. I just have one snake at the moment. His name's Sam, he's an anaconda. My wife's got a dog but I'm not really a dog guy. They're a little too demanding. I don't dislike any animals, but all things considered, I'd rather not have a parrot. 6.LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE. I'm fortunate enough not to have any regrets. I never ended up hurting anyone or being in prison for any extended amount of time. The other stuff I can live with. 7.KEEP FIT - BUT DON'T OVERDO IT. I'm 42. I didn't expect to be around this long. At this point I can appreciate it and I'm actually doing something to keep it that way. I live in Los Angeles and everybody works out all the time. I hate that whole thing. I try to keep my shit together but I'm not very disciplined about it. I run a few days a week, you know? I watch what I eat, I watch my food while I'm eating it. 8.DON'T LOSE MY LUGGAGE. That's happened to me a few times. It irks one pretty intensely. 9.MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING. You just need enough money for your rent. I used to live on a couple of bucks a day for a pack of cigarettes. Money was never a motivational thing for me - I never kept going just because of that aspect of it. I didn't ever really spend anything on food or alcohol. I always had girls to do that for me. 10.DON'T GO DOWN WITH THE SHIP. My dad said that, circa 1990, and I stand by it.
