前两天无聊写信给 FF 问空气污染 Hyperion 的问题，他的看法让我讶异了一下。
因为跟我们平常的想法好像不太一样。我把我的问题和他的回答贴在下面。
要讨论讨论吗？(事实上是想看各位专家讨论，我一窍不通)
我写去的email:
I am thinking to buy a Hyperion Jacket recently.
I live in Taiwan and I want to wear this jacket
when riding scooter to office and back home.
I heard that the oil/dirty air will hurt/damage the breathable/waterproof
clothes which means the clothes will not breathe anymore.
But in Taiwan there are many many scooters and the air pollution
is very serious, I am afraid that the function of the breathable/waterproof
will disappear.
In my case, do you suggest which outer fabric should I choose,
EPIC, eVENT, or QUANTUM? For riding scooters in air pollutaion environment?
The lowest temperature we got here is 50 degree F in the winter.
Is Hyperion suitable for the weather? Or it will be too warm wearing Hyperion?
FF 客服人员回答的 email:
I have heard of oils contaminating waterproof/breathable fabrics,
but I have never heard of contamination from pollution.
Even the smallest particles of pollution are far larger
than the pores of the PTFE membrane.
Whatever particles stick to the nylon fabric should wash off with
a normal wash using down soap.
The gaseous components of pollution like carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide,
and sulfur dioxide will pass through the membrane just the same a
s air and water. They will have no effect on the PTFE.
For protection from precipitation I recommend the eVent.
Epic is highly water resistant and water will roll right off the surface, b
ut riding through the rain will cause much more pressure that will drive
the rain through the fabric just like a high wind will do.
Even if you don’t plan to wear the jacket in the rain,
you might not always have a choice.
I don’t think the Hyperion will be too warm on a motor scooter
because you will just be sitting and the scooter creates a wind chill.
