标题[创作] Sonnet of the Pretending Post-pursuer

You say I'm fighting for a losing cause,
My loving cooes do barely give you pause;
That my continuing denial of
Th'impossibility of gaining love
From your illuminating charity
Is causing you endless anxiety.
You'll never budge or be moved or be wowed
Regardless of what things I say, or how.
I cannot seem to pass through your facade
And work upon your heart, to try and mod-
Ify your level of attraction, and
Put your infatuation in my hand.
But how can I stop my pursuit of love
If you my heart has never been full of?
I was reminded after finishing this that the Shakespearean sonnet has an alter-
nating rhyme scheme. Oh, I am fortune's fool . . . .
