The associations I have with water Water is one of the most widespread chemical compound in the world, which consists of hydrogen and oxygen. Inside the body of human flesh, there are plenty of water everywhere. The human flesh is made up of carbohhydrates, which are called to be made up of carbon atoms and water molecules. Hence, humans are called to be composed of water, and most of other creatures are as well. We can't be parted with water in one day, which could be regarded as the dearest chemical compound with us. Water is symbolic of purity and refinement. When walking alongside rivers or lakes with clarity and limpidity, the still water reflects the feelings in mind. Water makes a person humble. Rivers are of great length; they are made up of innumerable water drews which have gathered for a long time. At the sight of rivers of great length or lakes of enormous water, I am awed into sincerity and humility. What a great honor for me to be refreshed by the purity of water and the splendor of the moist. I remember that when I was in childhood, I have been to the waterfall in Woolai with my parents for a few times. I also had many opportunities to come near to the Dan-Shui and appreciate it in teens. The clarity of water always endows me with an intentive mind for imagination, self-examination, and refinement. Maybe the chief signification of water is new life and fertility. Most of all beings in the world now hightly needs the water. During the time we were still in the wombs of our mothers, we can't live without amniotic fluid (which is called sheep water in the meaning of the two Chinese words) which cushions the vibration of babies. Water also rears all plants in the world because water molecules are just needed for them to perform photosynthesis. One of the products during the photosynthesis of plants is oxygen molecules, which have contributed a lot to the prosperous creatures' happiness and life in the world. Water is solemn and divine. The word water in Chinese also means peace, beauty, or things of less strong intensity. We are indebted to such a holy substance water. Water refreshes us and purifies us; which is best dissolvent for not only chemical elements or chemical compounds in the world but also all creature's sentiments and thoughts for things in the world. We can say that water is the most eternal substance which preserves the harmony, love and peace among all creatures, because it's the most common thing in our bodies. We are linked with each other because of water. Water is also the symbol of gentle, soft and seet-natured women in the world. Wisdoms and philosophies about water, which were accumulated year by year gradually to an enormous system of thought, has come down to us, like the mother who always taught and bred us during infancy and childhood. Although many modern people are led astray by lust and avarice and go against the preservation of water and sustainable use of natural sources, such as chop trees which are superfluous for people but only for lucrative purposes, or pollute water resources only for money, I believe that people will finally realize the wisdom of water and reform these criminal deeds. --
