请问一下，late是不是指"最近的"之意？

底下是我再翻过一遍的结果
布莱尔在最近的星期二晚上结束了纽约之旅，
在返回伦敦之前，布莱尔接受采访时表示：「对於这件事我的看法不多，
所有国际社群应一致对抗恐怖主义，而且除了在安全防护层面下功夫之外，
更应该要主动去打击恐怖份子一些不良的计划」
