"suffer depressions" --> 陷入忧郁(沮丧) Because "suffer" here seems to signal more than just "to feel". Moreover, a person so numb as to "shut down" almost everything is not supposed to FEEL. 2. "these states" --> 这样的情况 Why not "这些" "状态"? In the preceding Chinese, "忧郁" doesn't have a plural form as in English. 3. "a" renewed sense of purpose --> 偶有全新的目标感 Any comment is deeply appreciated. --
