标题[问题] Employee Socialization and Orientation

正在翻一篇有关人力资源管理的文章
该章标题为employee socialization and orientation
谈新进员工的引导训练（orientation)
有句话不甚明了
"Many organizations often see orientation primarily
as a way to process new employees (i.e., completing
paperwork) rather than as a way to inspire them and
make them feel good about the choice they have made
to join the organization."
我对这段的理解是：「许多公司只把引导训练当作纸上作业
程序。而不藉此机会鼓舞员工，让他们觉得选择加入该公司
是得其所哉。」
但其实这段的"process"这个动词，我不是很明白背後的意思
公司"process"员工，是要作什麽呢？是表示「走完」既定程
序，只把orientation当成例行公事，不重视其实质作用的意
思吗？
